MISL Announces 2013-14 Schedule
Season opens Nov. 15, concludes March 2
TAMPA, Fla. – The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) released its 2013-14 regular season schedule today, with the season set to kick off on Friday, November 15 and close on Sunday, March 2.
MISL-Schedule0916.jpgOpening night for North America’s top professional indoor soccer league will feature the debut of the Pennsylvania Roar, who will host the Syracuse +Silver Knights in their inaugural game at Santander Arena in Reading, Pa. The other MISL newcomer, the St. Louis Ambush, will play their inaugural game the second weekend of the season as they host the Roar at Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri, on Friday, November 22.
The 2013 MISL Champion Baltimore Blast will kick off their title defense Saturday, November 16 when they travel to face the +Rochester Lancers at Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. Baltimore will not face its 2013 MISL Championship opponent, the +Missouri Comets, until Friday, January 3 when the Comets visit Baltimore Arena.
Each of the seven MISL clubs will play 20 games in 2013-14, 10 home and 10 away.  The final weekend of the season will see all seven teams in action as the race for playoff spots comes to a conclusion. Key matchups will see the Missouri Comets visiting +The Milwaukee Wave, Rochester visiting the Syracuse Silver Knights, and Baltimore traveling to Pennsylvania.
The MISL Playoffs will begin with the semifinals March 7-9, featuring the No. 1 and No. 4 seeds and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds meeting in home-and-home series’ with a mini game to decide the series following the second game if needed.  The championship will follow the same format on March 14-16. The higher seed will have the option to choose which game it hosts.
Nearly 400,000 fans attended MISL regular season games in 2012-13, marking the second consecutive season the league enjoyed a significant increase in attendance.

United Soccer Leagues acquired the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) in May, 2011 and began operating North America’s most storied and tradition-rich professional indoor soccer league for the 2011-12 season. The MISL represents the top level of professional indoor soccer in North America and consists of seven franchises for 2013-14. The league roster includes franchises in Baltimore, Missouri, Milwaukee, Pennsylvania, Rochester, St. Louis and Syracuse.
