ST. LOUIS AMBUSH
Coach: Daryl Doran
2012-13 Record: N/A
Playoffs: N/A

The Lowdown: Indoor soccer returns to St. Louis with former Ambush and Steamers player Daryl Doran leading the charge. Building around local talent, with some familiar names on the roster, the Ambush are hopeful of competing for a playoff place in their inaugural season in one of the United States’ strong soccer hotbeds.

The Veterans: The Ambush have marquee attractions both in attack and defense, with forward Jamar Beasley returning to one of his happiest hunting grounds. Beasley is joined by goalkeeper Jeff Richey, who was excellent for Chicago last season, while Elvir Kafedzic and Chris Mattingly will also be looked to for leadership for the new side.

The Newcomers: Former New England Revolution midfielder Michael Roach leads the newcomers to the indoor game, with the local standout being joined by former Houston Dutch Lions player Corey Adamson. Jamaican forward Odaine Sinclair will have the chance to learn the game from powerful forward Dan Antoniuk, and could be a key player for others to play off.

Outlook: The Ambush appear to have a solid opening roster, with Richey likely a key to finding early success. If the side can quickly develop chemistry under Doran’s leadership, it could challenge Rochester and Syracuse for a place in the playoffs by the end of the season.
